FAQs

Where do the dogs sleep?

Dogs from different households will be sleeping in different rooms. Dogs who are crate trained and sleep in a crate at home will be sleeping in a crate while staying with us. Our resident dogs have their own built in crates where they will be sleeping. Normally dogs don’t sleep in our bedroom but if it’s requested we will allow their crate, bed to be placed in our bedroom for their stay.

How much walk they have while they are staying for boarding?

Every dog will have either two smaller walks (20-30 minutes) or one long 1-2 hours walk a day. We will only let a dog off the lead if the owners signed the off lead consent form before boarding. If the off lead consent is signed we will still keep the dog on a flexi then a long line until we build some bond. Dogs without reliable recall will not be able to be off the lead on walks. We often go to enclosed fields where all dogs can be off.

Will you keep up the training, what sort of things you do with the dogs?

We are happy to continue any training while the dog stays with us. Basics will be practiced and expected from all dogs such as thresholds- no rushing out of doors and cars, sit and recall. Dogs with us will not meet strange dogs and we will protect all dogs from rushing dogs. All dogs will go back on lead if another dog on lead approaches us and if they aren’t able to hold a sit or a down to let the dog pass. All dogs will have a chance to practice loose lead walking.

Do you have crates? What should we bring?

We do have crates of all sizes, so you don’t need to bring the crate with you if your dog is crate trained. You can bring their bed, food and any tool you use on them as well as their favourite toy or anything comforting for them.

Where do they eat?

All dogs are fed separately their meals. Food is never left out within the dogs reach. Resource guarders will be fed in a safe space(crate or small room) where they don’t need to worry about their food being taken away. We can provide dog bowls and slow feeders so it’s not necessary to bring these along. We are happy to handfeed with training if it’s required.

Can i bring raw food?

Yes you can. Our resident dogs are also raw fed and we handle raw food and every other food at separate areas. We have 3 chest freezers where we can store raw food and if it’s easier you can get it delivered to us before the stay.

Are the dogs allowed to interact with each other all day long?

No. Dogs will only interact with each other or play as long as both are interested and the play is even. If one gets over excited or too pushy, the play will be paused and they will have some time to calm down. Dogs who are destroying toys will only be allowed their own toys while they stay with us. Any aggression displayed interaction will be stopped immediately and dogs will be separated. Mounting is unacceptable and will be stopped immediately.

Will you send us updates?

You will be updated throughout the days on Whatsapp with videos and pictures of your dog(s). We will keep you updated on how they are doing and what they are up to on a day to day basis. Owners are always welcome to message, call or video call if they are missing their dog(s).

What are the steps of booking a boarding?

The first step is a for you to book a meet and greet where we will meet for the first time. All the information about meet and greets and timings are on the Book now page. We will bring one of our own dogs and do an onlead walk which might progress to an off lead walk if we both feel comfortable about it. After the meet and greet we will discuss a day for trial and after the trial night if it all went well and we are both happy we can book the boarding in. We will send you the registration paperwork and booking fee invoice and once that’s paid the booking is confirmed. It is a first come first serve basis hence booking fee is required to hold a place.
